Artem
Y. Vaynman, M.D. is a Neurosurgeon with special
expertise in complex spinal surgery, minimally invasive
spinal surgery, and 3D spinal navigation. Dr. Vaynman
treats a variety of spine problems, such as degenerative
scoliosis, spinal stenosis, compression fractures, back
pain, herniated disc, and sciatica. He received
his undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Arts in Biology,
from New York University College of Art and Science,
New York, NY, where he was on the Dean’s List.
During his studies at the NYU Department of Molecular
Biology, Dr. Vaynman was awarded the National Scientific
Foundation Grant for Research.
Dr. Vaynman obtained his medical degree at SUNY-Downstate
College of Medicine, Brooklyn, NY, magna cum laude. He
received the Jadwin Honor Scholarship, a Clinical Excellence
Award while at SUNY-Downstate. At the New Jersey
Medical School University Hospital in Newark, NJ Dr.
Vaynman served as Resident in General Surgery and Resident
in Neurosurgery. He then became Chief Resident in Neurosurgery,
Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, NJ,
followed by his position as Chief Resident in Neurosurgery,
New Jersey Medical School, University Hospital, Newark,
NJ. He holds medical licenses in California, NJ, and
NY. Most recently he completed a Complex Spine Surgery
Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland,
Ohio.
He authored a chapter on “Spinal Cord Injury
and Paralysis” in Essentials of Orthopedic
Surgery: Spine. Dr. Vaynman has published papers
in multiple peer-reviewed journals on topics of brain
injury and treatment of acute hydrocephalus.
As a Fellow Member of both the Congress of Neurological
Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological
Surgeons, Dr.Vaynman has presented at CNS and AANS
annual meetings. He also performed Chief of Service
Grand Rounds at UMDNJ-Newark, New York Neurosurgical
Society and at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Spine
Health, Cleveland, Ohio on multiple topics. Dr.
Vaynman is fluent in Russian.
